Lekki Gardens Residents Association improved revenue collections performance by leveraging Simple Payments

The Situation

For the Lekki Gardens Phase 1 Estate association, timely payment of regular bills was at times a challenge. The inconvenience of the payment process was a reason often put forward by the residents, coupled with the fact that the Exco was concerned about the lack of flexibility in pricing within the current payment process. 

The team required an alternative payment experience to be setup, which can stay side by side the current system, but addresses some of the issues and nuances mentioned above.

The OnePipe Solution

With the combined APIs of Fidelity Bank and OPay, the association was able to set up an alternative payment processing and revenue collections system that addressed the requirements.

FacilityBills set up a Simple Payments Page that was pre-enabled with the OPay Payment Gateway, which had the unique ability to be able to provide instant settlement to merchants. All payments collected were automatically moved into the account dedicated for the service with full transparency to the association administrators.

With this payment page, the residents are able to pay with cards, OPay wallets, bank accounts, bank transfers and USSD. An integration was also established such that upon completion of every payment, the payment is auto-reconciled and payment information applied to the existing bills of the residents.

With the reminders and follow-up functionality of Simple Payments, the administrators are also able to publish bills when due, and Simple Payments will auto-invoice and remind residents until bills are settled.
